Background & Training
Dr Lingwei William Tao is a fellowship trained cataract surgeon and general ophthalmologist.
William obtained undergraduate medical training at The University of Melbourne (MBBS and BMedSc). William has completed his internship and residency at Alfred Hospital, while concurrently completing his Masters of Medicine (Ophthalmic Science) at The University of Sydney. He has completed his ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.
William has additional sub-speciality training in adult and paediatric glaucoma as well as general ophthalmology, completing his fellowships at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospital and The Royal Children’s Hospital.
William speaks several languages: English, Mandarin & Shanghainese dialect.
